I had a chance to participate at Knowledge Co-Creation Program on Operation and Maintenance of Urban Water Supply System (Water Distribution and Service) from June 27 to August 9, 2017 at Waterworks Bureau, The City of Hiroshima organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency under the International Cooperation Program of the Government of Japan.

To visit Japan is a wish of many people. It was incredible opportunity and chance for me. I spent summer time in Hiroshima city – the capital of peace, which is rich of forests and rivers, visiting historical Kyoto city and one of the biggest cities in the world – Tokyo. Learning about Japanese culture, people and history, wearing kimono, taking part in tea ceremony and flower arrangement, being in typical Japanese village and preparing food with villagers, spending time with children at primary school, listening Japanese music instruments and taking part in many other activities. I can extend this list. Yes, all these activities we had during the training in Japan. Program was organized very well. Best topics were selected, sophisticated lectures were conducted with excellent and kind organization of “Waterworks” bureau of the Hiroshima city.

Course covered 15 lessons on different topics. We gained new skills and knowledge, got a chance to get great experience from Japanese engineers, professors and lecturers. Besides each participant made presentations about country and water sector development of their country. During the course last week we prepared Action Plan and made presentation.

I have made new friends from Japan and other countries. I spent my best time and live interesting moments during visit of Japan and shared just some of them. Mysterious, enigmatical Japan!

At the end of the training course, participants were presented certificates by Japan International Cooperation Agency and Waterworks Bureau, The City of Hiroshima.

Finally, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Gоvernment of Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency, Government of Azerbaijan and “Azersu” for providing us with such a chance to participate at this training.
